Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen

My kids love being in the kitchen. I know they really love eating but recently Ethan and especially Emily have to help me cook anything and everything. I have tried to embrace their interest and enthusiasm but many times there are simply too many cooks in the kitchen. I usually end up holding Emily so she can see what's going on while telling Ethan to stop spilling all over the counter. Not to mention the fact that they are grabbing everything in their paths and stuffing their faces. So today we just made a big mess baking chocolate chip cookies. Ethan spilled brown sugar everywhere. Emily poured spices on the floor. Ethan's arms were covered in sugar, flour and a little bit of egg. Emily ended up with batter smeared in her hair. We all loved it, especially licking the utensils. There is nothing better than homemade chocolate chip cookie batter and sharing it with your kids.
