Florida and fall

Everyone at the beach.

In Pennsylvania, the leaves are changing colors, cool weather has moved in and it is now time to break out our warm jackets. Summer is by far my favorite season (even with Pennsylvania's oppressive humidity!) but I truly love this time of year with its promise of the upcoming holidays. This year we were lucky enough to have another blast of summer when we traveled to Florida last week. The trip had been a long time coming as it was organized by my aunt and mother as a family reunion to honor my grandmother who will be turning 90 next month. It was a wonderful week full of fun and family and warmth. The kids (and adults too) got to swim at the pool or play at the beach everyday. And you can't beat that! We wore shorts and sundresses again, had to put on sunscreen and chilled in the air conditioning. We ate and walked outside at all times of the day. But it was just wonderful to spend some quality time with the people I love more than anything in this world. The sun and warm weather were just a bonus. When we got back to Pennsylvania a little bit tanner, I was happy to see the vibrant colors of fall and feel the crisp autumn air. I felt content, refreshed (despite the fact that the airlines had lost Emily's car seat!), but mostly I felt love and there isn't any better feeling than that.

Love the new blog layout!

Looks like a fun, warm, sunny vacay in Florida. Welcome back to chilly weather.
