A Night Out

Tonight was a rarity and a luxury. An unexpected night out with my husband without kids. Most of the time we "use up" our babysitting on work and meetings, when we actually need someone to watch the kids, but tonight, Gram and Papa (and Aunt Kate) willingly took the kids up to the cabin to have them help in the preparation of tomorrow's Thanksgiving dinner. This left Jon and I with a night to ourselves. What to do? Have dinner in peace and quiet at a normal hour. At 7 pm (much later than our kids' usual 5:30 pm dinner time!), we went to the local sushi restaurant and enjoyed every relaxing, flavorful, calm bite. By the time we were done with dinner, it was almost 8:30 pm. Now what? After a little debate, we decided to just head home. Yes, I feel totally lame but am so glad to simply sit in my silent house. Ahhhhhh. A great night.
