My Baby Girl Turns Two

Two is such a wonderful age. It is terrible - the constant shouting of "NO!" and "MINE!" accompanied by monster-sized tears. It is trying - temper tantrums are a regular occurance. It is rewarding - free kisses and hugs at any moment. It is amazing - our little ones step into independence, literally and figuratively. For a while now I've felt like Emily is already two years old - she simply acts that way, so her impending birthday shouldn't have been that hard to process. Except that it was! My little baby girl is now longer a baby. She is a little girl - or rather a big girl, as Emily will surely tell you. She is a walking, talking, running, eating, thinking, reasoning, feeling, loving, crying, smiling, laughing, growing girl. Two years and despite the emotional ups and downs, I love her more and more everyday. Happy birthday baby girl!
