ER
Tonight I got the call no parent wants. In the middle of my night out with the girls, Jon called to say that he was taking Ethan to the hospital! What!?!?! I was immediately in panic mode. Evidently, Ethan and his buddy were playing and he fell into the radiator resulting in a deep cut on his head. Of course, Jon tried to reassure me that everything was fine but all I could hear was Ethan crying in the background. Jon was already on his way to the hospital. I tearfully explained to the girls and headed over to get Emily from our friends' house. I was literally shaking on the car ride. My heart and mind were racing. I had no idea how bad it was. I got home, put a cranky Emily to bed (I think she knew something was wrong too) and checked my phone. Luckily, Carlisle's ER isn't too busy on a Saturday evening and Ethan had already been seen by the doctor. They ended up putting a couple of staples in his head and were back by 9 pm. Ethan walked in our front door with a big smile. The nurse had given him a bunch of stickers and rubber gloves to play with. You can't even tell he was hurt. I hug him so relieved, but all I could think was, knowing Ethan, this is probably just the first of many times we'll have to make a trip to the emergency room. I don't know if I can handle it! Thankfully, everything was alright and I even got to head back out with the girls.

Hope Ethan isn't in too much discomfort today and I hope that was your last ER visit for any of you. It's the worst!
So scary! It sounds like Ethan is quite the trooper, and we're glad everything is okay. Big hug, Mama.
Radiator gashes are one of my biggest fears in our house too, esp with the slippery conditions of socked-feet on wood floors and with C just learning how to walk.
Gene told me about Ethan's little accident! So glad everything is ok. I was worried for you as I know I would've been a wreck!
