Someone Else's Child

Every day when I go to work, there are over a hundred different children in my classroom. These are someone else's sons and daughters. Children loved by someone. Other parents sit wherever they work missing the kids in my class. These parents wonder what and how their children are doing every day. Their hearts probably ache when the bus drives their sons and daughters away. But I get to see them every single day, probably longer than their parents do. I have the priviledge of watching them change and grow. I know who their friends are and if they actually turned in their homework. I get to see them smile and question and learn. I have the honor of being a part of their lives. I now know this is an amazing responsibility. I teach someone else's child.
