Pleasant
Since I have been back at work this week, E has been attending the YMCA day camp. Yesterday when I went to pick him up, he was playing baseball with a bunch of other boys. As he spied me, he shyly waved and continued playing, waiting for the counselor to actually tell him I was there. Once he came over, he quickly said "hi" to me and went inside the Y to collect his belongings. While he was gone, the young lady who was in charge of signing the kids out began talking to me about E. She remarked that he is so "pleasant" and a "great addition to the camp," plus he "has a great throwing arm," which almost knocked her over earlier in the day when she wasn't expecting such a hard throw from him! As she was speaking to me, I couldn't help but beam with pride. I know Ethan is a great kid (despite his crazy moments!), but for someone else to recognize that in just two days made me so proud of him. Of course, I want my kids to be happy and healthy, but more than anything, I want them to be nice. It is so wonderful and reassuring to know that E continues to behave even when we are not there to watch and guide him. He is growing into such a nice boy.
