The Other Grand Canyon

Being from Colorado, when someone says "The Grand Canyon" I automatically think of steep cliffs dropping off in the middle of the desert, but there is another such wonder. Last weekend we sent summer off by visiting the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. Yes, I said Pennsylvania! This grand canyon is in the middle of the forest and the canyon itself is full of trees and waterfalls rather than rock and dust. We had such a nice, relaxing time. The kids were great hikers (except for E's big fall) and the highlight of the trip had to be walking down in the canyon along the small waterfalls. The weather was much cooler than it has been, and despite the fact that it rained all Sunday when we were packing up, we all wanted to stay. That is truly grand.
