Emily Meets Audrey

Even though I haven't lived in Colorado for 10 years or in my parents' house for much longer than that, I still have boxes of sentimental junk there. The day after we arrived at my parents' house, my mom pulled out a bag full of my old stuffed animals. In there was my old hand-made "Cabbage Patch" doll. I distinctly remember the day I got her - it was Christmas and I had been wanting one for so long. My parents had three dolls made to resemble each of us girls. We were thrilled. Mine has long brown braids and big blue eyes. I named her Audrey Lynn. My mom thought it would be fun for Emily to play with her and when she showed Emily the doll, my little girl leaned over and gave Audrey the sweetest kiss on the cheek. Emily was just as thrilled.
