Lately, Emily has had horrible manners at home. She never says please or thank you without a reminder and it is getting to be rude and annoying. Tonight at dinner when I asked to please use her manners, she told me that she had to turn on "Manners Emily." She twisted the side of her shirt and said, "Please, Mommy."
The other day Jon and I were talking about how much things have changed for our kids from when we were kids. Jon perfectly summed it up with "the chalkboard is now where you hang the
Emily has taken to calling everyone's child their "sweetheart." For example, the other day when we ran into another preschool mom at the store, Emily told her, "I go to school with your sweetheart." Melted my heart.
At school I am teaching about grammar and punctuation (ugh!). Today one of my students came into class today asking if she could run to the restroom because of her "end mark," which is what we had been reviewing previously. Enough said.
