The other day, Emily woke up from her nap immediately asking, "Where's baby?" After we found her baby lying on the floor and swaddled her so she'd stop 'crying,' Emily cradled the baby, a huge smile across her face. She continued to cuddle and comfort her baby speaking in what I have dubbed Emily's 'mommy voice' - a high-pitched, almost crying tone full of sympathy. It's funny but Emily's whole demeanor, including her voice, changes when she picks up one of her babies. So here was Emily - my little mommy - climbing down the stairs, baby in arms. At the bottom of the stairwell, she headed straight toward the playroom, spying some of the many vehicles Ethan had left stranded all over the carpet. Mommy Emily suddenly threw her baby to the floor, ran toward the crash zone and yelled, "Monster truck! SMASH!" My immediate thought: "Ah, that is so Emily!"
