Thanksgiving

Ready for the race!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend. Since I was able to arrange my conferences earlier I had Wednesday off of school in order to get ready to head up to the cabin for the weekend. Ethan and I (Emily was at preschool) spent the whole day running all over town.
Thursday we started our day with the Turkey Trot. This year Ethan ran too, and despite being very tired, he did a great job. I ran the 10K, while Ethan and Jon (plus Emily in the stroller) did the 5K, but coincidentally, we all ended up at the finish line at the same time. After racing and getting ready, we finally headed up to the cabin for our first official holiday in our place. Even though we had to do most of the cooking in Jon's parents' cabin, we ate around our large dining table, christening it with much to be thankful for.
Despite the cold temperatures on Friday, we had a great time at the cabin. I think we played every game there and probably got out every toy. We had invited people up for dinner that evening and were able to see many old friends visiting for the holiday. Again we ate around the cabin's large table, christening it with many laughs and beers.
After cleaning and packing Saturday morning, we made our way home for a much-needed uneventful afternoon and evening.
And today, we finished off our weekend with addressed holiday cards, a decorated house and Christmas tree, in addition to an Eagles win.
But the best part of it all is that we even have school off tomorrow!
