NYC
Venturing off to the city (now with two young kids!) isn't quite as exciting as it used to be. No more late nights of luxurious eating and drinking. Now there are constantly hungry bellies to feed, dirty shoes to tie, cold hands to hold, runny noses to wipe, tired kids to be held. But on the flip side, we get to see the world through the eyes of our children. The thrill of a simple subway ride. The excitement of seeing the Statue of Liberty for the first time and remembering it. Running around after the pigeons on the sidewalk. Being perfectly happy to sit in the hotel room eating cheerios and watching TV. Believing the netting on the statues near Prospect Park is actually Spiderman's web. Eating spaghetti with meatballs for dinner, inhaling every bite. Crying because you are going to miss home and then not wanting to go back.
