First Dentist Visit
I took off work to take the kids and myself to the dentist. It was their first time, and I don't know why, but both of my kids were ecstatic to go. Thankfully, they weren't disappointed. When we entered the waiting room it was full of cool toys. Ethan and Emily immediately stripped off their coats and began playing. When the nurse showed us into the exam room, she spoke directly to Ethan and Emily about what was going to happen. Then, to their amazement, the receptionist took them to pick out toys while I got my x-rays. They were thrilled. Even though they got a little squirmy while I had my teeth checked, they were relatively well behaved. I think they were just so darn excited! After my turn, Ethan was up. He did wonderfully - sitting still, listening and answering all the questions. A perfect patient. And to top it all off, the dentist, Dr. Joe, came in juggling when it was Ethan's turn to see him. How can you beat that!? Of course, after seeing all the fun Ethan was having, Emily wanted a turn. She is way too young to sit still in the big chair but Dr. Joe had her open her mouth so he could "check" her teeth. She was satisfied with that and ready to leave. But the best part in my eyes - no cavities!
