Last Few Days

As we come to the close of another school, I can't help but get nostalgic. It has been a crazy and wonderful 10 months. I went back to work full-time. Ethan started kindergarten. Emily now goes to preschool every day. Jon's business is still in question. A big year for us with lots of adjustment. At first I was so worried, but now I look at my kids (and by this I mean my own and my students) and wonder why. They have grown leaps and bounds. Ethan can now read. Emily can spell her name. My students are more intelligent readers, writers and thinkers (well, most of them are!). None of it came easy, but we are all better because of it. Thinking back, I know this year isn't what we had planned and it hasn't been ideal, but here we are, and with summer just a few days away, I can't help but smile.
