Birthdays and barf

Maea and Ethan singing "Happy Birthday" to Gram.

Yes, birthdays and barf would be the perfect way to describe our weekend. Friday night we all celebrated Jon's mom's birthday. Kate drove over from Philly and Tine was even here all the way from Washington. The whole clan together. Saturday, which is actually both Janice's and Maea's birthday, we went to Maea's birthday party at the community center. The kids had so much fun simply running around the gym. Unfortunately, that night Ethan puked and puked and puked. Yucky stomach bug going around! Not much fun for anyone. At least Jon was out most of the night and missed some of the nastiness. After Ethan threw up for the third time, I knew our big plans for Sunday would have to change. That day we had planned to go to our annual Hershey Hotel birthday brunch with all of Jon's family. Ethan was way too sick to be dropped off with a babysitter, which meant someone had to stay home with him (and Emily) and miss out on the gluttony. I guess having my birthday in February trumped Jon's status with the family, so I ended up joining them for brunch. It was so delicious but we did manage to smuggle a small dish of creme brulee out of the restaurant for Jon.

Nice! Great to see Kim and Janice! I follow your blog. My name is Beth, and my mom and dad (Jeff and Gail Pfaffenberger) went to school with Janice and Dave. I was also an English teacher and then a stay-at-home mom, so I enjoy your blog. Say hi to the Roses for me. Oh, and sorry to hear about the puking! And I totally understand the name game, which is why I named my daughter Kerigan. :)

Sorry E had the stomach bug. I had it last week too. No fun at all. The only thing good about it is that it's usually a short-lived, 24-hour thing. Hopefully. Glad you enjoyed your bday brunch - sounds fun! Hope everyone is and stays healthy!
