When I was little, people always told me I looked just like my dad. I adored him and happily smiled at the compliment. Growing up, I never questioned my devotion or my dad's love. I knew he loved me because he always made me smile, and our house was full of lots of laughter, jokes and fun. I never knew (and sometimes I still don't know!) when he was actually being serious, which wasn't too often. This quality of humor is obviously important to me as I married a man who also always makes me smile. My husband too is an amazing dad and our own home is now filled with laughter. Making my children giggle until their bellies hurt is his specialty, and hearing their laughter is one of the most cherished sounds I've ever heard. But the one person in our house who laughs the loudest with her daddy is my little girl. I know she too adores her dad, and probably always will as she is also her daddy's girl. "Be kind to thy father, for when thou wert young, Who loved thee so fondly as he? He caught the first accents that fell from thy tongue, And joined in thy innocent glee." -- Margaret Courtney I still adore my dad, but now I admire him more and truly appreciate all the laughs. Happy Fathers' Day!
