Holy Hyner

As I sit here typing, my thighs are screaming and my feet are throbbing. All a result of the punishing Hyner View Trail Challenge - a 17 mile hike/run up and down three mountains. This is the second time I have done the race so I should know better. It is probably one of the best and worst experiences. Anyone who has put themselves through something like this understands. There is an amazing sense of accomplishment mixed with the painful regret of doing it. Not that I regret it at all; my body just isn't so forgiving. I am sure I will do it again next year because the pain subsides but the pride doesn't. And already I am thinking about my next race this summer - maybe a duathlon or another triathlon - and looking ahead to possibly doing a marathon this summer.
