Typical Middle School

Today I was walking down the hallway in the middle of the period and ran into one of my students. She had a pass but is a good student so I was surprised to see her missing any part of class. I asked her what she was doing and she admitted that she was supposed to be in science class but freely mentioned that it was "uncomfortable today." Of course, I asked her what she meant by this and she replied with a sheepish grin, "A certain boy in class." Hormones always overpower academics when you are teaching middle school.
